To me, the Playin' was the most interesting with the jazzy feel. They should have just ended the music there instead of waiting through ten minutes of tuning to play FOTD.

I wouldn't have minded if they'd skipped the music entirely. Having Lesh, Weir & Parish together to discuss the early Dead is quite a rare occasion that was not really fulfilled.

Bingo...that's what I've been saying since 82. It was always the case that I enjoyed the discussions of the 60s more than living in the present time though I understand for artists that would be stagnating. It does, however, fall in with most of my mantras (early is better; music can be judged; time is valuable; don't waste time on current activity if the current activity doesn't come close to measuring up to what you used to do and deluding yourself by saying I have to be creative and keep moving forward and avoid the perils of the geezer circuit...yes, those are my mantras).
